Its been an uneventful week for Project:Carlos. I missed one day of running because I was just too damn tired from work. In terms of work though, I’m happy to report that it is going pretty well. You know what they say, when one door closes, another one opens. (and this time I don’t think a door just opened, an entire flood gate was released!) I thank God and everyone else for the numerous blessings I have received in one form or another. Quick shout out to Imman Santos who celebrated his birthday on the 4th! Happy Birthday buddy! I also had my gait analyzed and I was slightly overpronating. I did some research on the current shoes I am wearing. I use my Adidas Litestrike EVA and apparently they are for motion control. I need shoes for stability according to the analysis of Runnr. Here is a list of shoes I think are both purty and will fit my needs as I train to run my first ever race within this year.

Nike LunarGlides+
Adidas SuperNova Sequence 2
Asics GT-2150
Mizuno Wave Inspire 6
New Balance 1225

According to Mr.Ironman, Don Velasco, he has the New Balance 1225 and they are quite expensive. (I did however forget to ask him how much is quite expensive!) I am seriously leaning towards lunarglides since they are the only pair I have tried on and they seem pretty sturdy and tight. They also have the orange one which I really really like!

Also, to change the scenery and route a bit, I ran at Ateneo last saturday. Wil was kind enough to map out a 5k route, but I ended up doing 5.6k in 58mins. I was pretty happy with it. The inclines sucked like hell and I was literally running but seemed like I was walking at some point. It was a good workout though. I will make Saturday my Ateneo run.

*Also worth noting, I ran into my ex’s Mom and Dad at Ateneo too! They too were exercising! It was good to see them walking and happy together!

And now for my map!

That was the longest distance I’ve ran so far. At the end of the run, as I sat beside my car eating my banana, a thought came across me which made me smile.

“Life was a lot like today’s run. I maintained a slow and steady pace. It was a pretty long run. The uphill parts were tough, but at the end of the run, you just feel awesome. The view from the top was spectacular.”

I found it funny how my life was reduced to a simple 5.8k run. But as with most things, the simplest explanation is usually the best. I’m looking forward to my next run on Wed. I feel like I’m getting stronger with every run. I’m proud to say I have inspired at least 2 people to take up running as well. I started this blog with the aim to inspire at least 1 person. I have just doubled my goals. I’ll see you guys in my next entry and remember to keep on running!

P.S. My birthday is coming up! Looks like you guys know what I’m getting/want for my Birthday!

You know that big building where Nike is located? The building wrapped with Kobe’s face? Well guess what, they took down the sticker already! Yes! No more huge Kobe Vipers or Kobe’s mug, grinning at you. Its nothing but a white building now. Ever since I started frequenting Boni High St, it was always there. I am somewhat sad that its gone. I thought it added character to the place and building. Now its nothing but another white walled building. I’m happy though too. I lasted here more than the sticker. I wonder what they’ll put up next?
