Rockstar

Last night was just too awesome to remain at tumblr. This in itself deserves a place on my blog. While I am waiting for the music video to come out, I will be posting my 4th or 5th cartoon blog here. Last night, January 18, 2010 I was able to check one of the items on my bucket list. Yes I do have a bucket list. The List contains the usual things like climb a mountain, do something of pure awesomeness, but also on there was be a rockstar. Rockeoke last night gave me that chance to cross out something on my list. I sang Sweet Child of Mine with all the Guns’N'Roses flare that comes with it.

I have never done this song during a rockeoke performance, because I’ve always settled for easy songs. But tonight I decided to go all out. It took awhile before I got my turn. After 2 sets, and only 3 singers left, I zipped up my ever faithful Adidas jacket and just made sure I knew by heart that starting note. If there was one thing I wanted it was at least to open with just pure awesomeness.

There was some awesome performances before it was my turn. I had to live up to the expectation. I had to do well. I heard my name called.

I stood up, grabbed the mic, attempted to show that I wasn’t nervous by greeting some unknown person a happy birthday. The ever so famous lead intro of Slash from Guns’N'Roses  broke the silence. The drums started pounding at the same intensity my heart pounded. It was now or never.

I opened my mouth and sang. I looked out into a sea of dark faces. I could see them raising their hands in triumph. I could hear the cheers and shouts of “wooooooo!!!” I hit the notes. I hit the song. It was rockeoke succes. Tonight was awesome. Tonight was just purely sublime egotistical & egotastical pleasure. Tonight I was a rockstar.

Crossing one item of the list.
